Official

I move around. Like, a lot. I haven't lived at the same address for more than a year since I graduated from high school. I get a little stir crazy and decide to move on a whim on a regular basis. This is all to say: the house purchase is official and I'm feeling a mix of relief, fear, and excitement.

The papers have been signed and very large checks have been written. Now, I know this doesn't mean forever. It doesn't even have to mean 30 years at a fixed rate. But it does suggest more than a year at the same address and I think that is a good place to start.

I also did a little cleaning around my apartment in anticipation of the big move and took a break to go watch the boyfriend's basketball game Sunday night. It was the kind of weekend that makes going back to work on this morning a little harder than it should be.

What is your decorating style?

My boyfriend asked me this question yesterday and I didn't have a good answer for him. He works in the field of home design so he knows a little more about these things than the average man, and actually knows more about it than I do. This weekend I will be making some big design decisions about my new home and I want a consistent "feel" to the whole house. I've never owned my own place before and I'm overwhelmed by all the decisions that need to be made and how expensive it all is.

Fall Has Arrived

I went to Bath and Body Works today and stocked up on these:

 

I love the way these candles burn and this "Leaves" scent smells exactly like Fall: cinnamon, apples, spice, berries, and a few other notes I can't describe. You can buy them here.

First Post

This blog is something that I've thought about starting for a long time. I finally took the plunge as a result of several life changes coming my way. I am in the process of buying my first home, among other things, and have found a need for a place to collect my thoughts and sources of inspiration.
The title of my blog was inspired by a poem I read several years ago and I've never been able to track down the author or title of it. If you recognize this line let me know!
